A Night at the Bund concert

Chinese traditional musical idioms and Jazz got moulded together because of Shanghai’s flourishing entertainment industry and progressive financial atmosphere in the 1930s. Until now this significant genre is considered as the forerunner of today’s Mandopop, one of the most exciting musical movements in Contemporary Chinese music history.

Hong Kong Youth Choir will masquerade to be divas (sorry men, we did not share much limelight in this era…) of Shanghai in the 30’s, presenting the most well-known classics of this “best of times” alongside a band. Coming in as the best company to the enchanting melodies, arousing lyrics and intoxicating harmonies, beverage coupons will be provided upon purchase of tickets.
